Ballad to the Bog

Inspired by my first residency at the Cill Rialaig Artists' Retreat and the poetry and writing of the late, great Michael Kirby, Ballads to the Bog was a love song to South Kerry and the magic and majesty there.

I had originally gone to Ciarraî to paint the sea but was awestruck (not a term I use lightly!) by the boglands at Emloughmore and felt compelled to paint them. This was my first proper solo show and toured from Kerry to Dublin.
