At Inchydoney was one of the first landscapes I made shortly after returning to live in Ireland in 2007. I had just begun to drive and so was, I think, for the first time in my life – consciously looking where I was going. My first ‘big’ solo trip was to drive to Inchydoney from Cork City – it felt like a mission and magic to arrive safely. Upon arrival there was a feeling of just that ‘arrival’, being in the right place, at the right time. I had lived overseas for 15 years and it had taken me years to arrive but I felt the ‘landing’ then and there. It felt like home and every time I visit Inchydoney it feels just the same. It’s a fresh, clean place where you can swim in the sea while looking at cows! There’s a connection there that is rare and wonder-full!
All prints are made with pigment inks on 100% Cotton Rag Hahnemühle paper.
