'The Cove' was a labour of love.    

It's size necessitated studio painting but it brings together magical memories of time throughout Mayo. I have done painting residencies over in Westport, on the Mayo Lakes and way over in North Mayo at The Ballinglen Fellowship. It is a place of stark contrasts. Those gritty edges of the cliffs at Down Patrick and Black Sod and the endless skies at Lacken and Achil where fluffy clouds abound. Weather is guaranteed. This painting brings me back to the sheer elements and being alive in these places.
