When I first got my pup Doug, we took a trip way out west in a camper-van. It was a great way to get to know one another and to visit some of my absolute favourite places.
We parked up on Achill for a few days and despite torrents of rain and winds that blew us ALL ways, it was a brilliant time in nature. When driving on to the island you can forgiven for perceiving it as entirely flat but the way the sky swoops down at Keem bay is a remarkable illustration of just how far the land falls. It is a remarkable place in all weathers and this painting was my attempt to capture the awesome in the every day at Achill.
